Liverpool eyeing Uzbek prospect Abbosbek Fayzullaev after missing Kvaratskhelia

🇬🇧 2 uur geleden

Liverpool have dispatched scouts to the World Cup to monitor 22‑year‑old Abbosbek Fayzullaev, a potential signing after the club previously missed the chance to acquire Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Michael Edwards is reported to be preparing a strategic move that could bring the Uzbek talent to Anfield.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia currently plays for Paris Saint‑Germain and is recognised for his unpredictability, ability to beat opponents on either flank and decisive creativity. He has added two Champions League triumphs to his résumé while at the French club.

Liverpool’s earlier interest in Kvaratskhelia reportedly pre‑dated his transfer to Napoli and later to Paris Saint‑Germain. Richard Hughes’ advances are said to have arrived after Kvaratskhelia had already committed to the French side, complicating any potential deal.

Abbosbek Fayzullaev began his senior career with CSKA Moscow before moving to a club in Turkey, where he now operates as an attacking midfielder. The 22‑year‑old is described as small‑statured, highly technical, with excellent vision and dribbling ability.

In his latest Turkish league stint he recorded seven goal contributions across twelve matches, while for Uzbekistan he delivered five goal contributions in his last six World Cup qualification fixtures. These figures underline his impact both at club and international level.

According to the Uzbek outlet Zamin, Liverpool sent representatives to the World Cup to observe Fayzullaev in action, indicating the English club is actively considering a transfer. The scouting mission suggests Liverpool aim to avoid repeating past missed opportunities.
