Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal chase Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi
Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal are reported to be preparing bids for Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, a 19‑year‑old France Under‑21 striker.
The player’s price tag is said to be around £80 million.
Andoni Iraola, appointed as Liverpool manager after Arne Slot was dismissed by Fenway Sports Group, could have an advantage because he previously coached Bournemouth.
Iraola’s familiarity with the Cherries’ system is noted as a factor that may attract Kroupi back to his former club.
Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League last season, placing them among the league’s traditional big six.
Manchester United have publicly declared their intent to match Arsenal’s offer for Kroupi, describing the deal as a “blockbuster £80 million fight.”
United view the French striker as a potential addition to their attack and cite his breakthrough season on the south coast.
Arsenal, identified in the same statement as Premier League champions, are also plotting a move for the Bournemouth teenager.
Bournemouth, who recently secured Europa League qualification, see Kroupi as one of their standout performers this term.
Liverpool are also linked with Yan Diomande, though he has never featured in the Premier League, making him a riskier target.
Liverpool staff Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards have been urged to seriously consider pursuing Kroupi.
