Florentino Pérez launches Real Madrid presidency campaign
The Real Madrid presidential election campaign officially began on Wednesday with inauguration events for the two candidacies. The Electoral Board confirmed on Tuesday that the vote will take place on 7 June.
The race pits incumbent Florentino Pérez against challenger Enrique Riquelme. The presidency covers the next four-year term.
Pérez, who has led the club since 2000, is seeking a further four-year mandate. Riquelme, a former club official, announced his candidacy earlier this month.
The inauguration ceremonies were held at the club’s headquarters in Madrid. Both candidates presented their platforms to supporters.
With the election date set, the campaign is expected to intensify in the coming weeks. Voters will decide the club’s direction ahead of the 2028 season.
