Manchester United agree £35m fee for Atalanta midfielder Ederson

Manchester United have agreed a £35m fee with Atalanta for 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder Ederson. The transfer marks Manchester United manager Michael Carrick’s first signing since taking charge in November. Ederson, who has made 120 appearances for Atalanta, will undergo a medical in Manchester ahead of finalising terms. Carrick previously managed Ederson at Manchester United's Under-18s in 2016 before the player progressed through Atalanta’s academy. The midfielder’s contract at Atalanta expires in 2026 but will be activated for a release clause if Manchester United’s offer is accepted. The deal remains subject to personal terms and international clearance before completion.
