Mathieu Bodmer set to become Caen sporting director
Mathieu Bodmer has reached a principle agreement to become the sporting director of Stade Malherbe Caen. The Ligue 3 side is owned by forward Kylian Mbappé.
Bodmer previously served as the director at Le Havre. His tenure at the Normandy club included overseeing player recruitment and commercial operations. The move marks his first senior role since leaving Le Havre.
Stade Malherbe Caen competes in Ligue 3 following recent relegation. Mbappé acquired a controlling stake in the club earlier this year. The ownership aims to rebuild the squad and infrastructure.
Bodmer is expected to shape the club's sporting strategy ahead of the upcoming season. His experience at Le Havre may influence recruitment and youth development. Caen hopes the appointment accelerates its push for promotion.
