FC Schalke 04 ends Ben Manga contract, pays extra €1m
Ben Manga's contract with FC Schalke 04 was terminated after more than seven months of inactivity. The settlement costs the promoted club just over one million euros more than originally expected.
Manga had been placed on Freistellung more than seven months earlier. The club retained him on the payroll throughout that period.
FC Schalke 04 issued a statement that highlighted mutual respect between the club and Manga. The wording emphasized appreciation from both sides.
The settlement required the promoted side to spend just over one million euros beyond the projected figure. That excess reflects a higher-than-anticipated termination fee.
The resolution closes the Manga file permanently. No further legal or financial actions are anticipated.
FC Schalke 04 will now continue its squad planning without Manga's involvement. The club aims to focus on upcoming season preparations.
