MJ Kamson-Kamara joins Hearts as aggressive centre‑back

MJ Kamson-Kamara, the 20‑year‑old centre‑back, has signed a pre‑contract with Hearts after leaving Lincoln City and will start pre‑season with the Scottish club. The new defender described himself as aggressive and front‑footed, promising a no‑nonsense style for the Edinburgh side.

Kamson-Kamara agreed the pre‑contract deal in May, confirming his move from Lincoln City. He is now prepared to join Hearts for the upcoming pre‑season training camp.

Last season, the 20‑year‑old spent time on loan at Glentoran in Northern Ireland. He made 31 appearances and scored five goals for the club.

Kamson-Kamara said he is an aggressive, front‑footed defender who loves to defend and block the ball. "I'd like to say I'm an aggressive, front‑footed defender that just loves to defend, loves to block the ball and just loves to be aggressive," he told Hearts' website.

He explained that Lincoln City sent him on loan from the age of 17 to non‑league sides to gain men's football experience. "Lincoln were good with me. They sent me on loan from the age of 17, playing at non‑league sides, getting that experience of men's football, which I thought was really important instead of playing youth football," he said.

Kamson-Kamara reflected that he learned many lessons and made mistakes, which were vital for his career so far. "I learned a lot of lessons, made mistakes. It was vital for my career so far," he added.

He expressed eagerness to meet his new teammates, learn from them and improve continuously. "I can't wait to meet everyone now. A lot of good players with good experience. I can't wait to learn from them and just get better and better. It's going to be amazing to be going across Europe and playing against massive teams, massive fans, massive stadiums," he said.
