Pep Guardiola donates apartment plants to City Football Academy
Pep Guardiola has left Manchester City and donated the pots and plants from his Manchester city‑centre apartment to the club’s training ground. The horticultural gift now decorates the City Football Academy. Guardiola, 55, arranged for a gardener to extract and transport the greenery.
The plants required specialised transport to move them safely to the Etihad Campus. They have been positioned around the City Football Academy as a permanent addition.
Incoming manager Enzo Maresca is finalising his first‑team staff as the academy undergoes personnel changes. Maresca’s team will prepare the senior squad for a July pre‑season return, contingent on FIFA World Cup exit timings.
Manchester City’s board is evaluating wide‑forward options such as Iliman Ndiaye while monitoring a potential £60 million Tottenham move for Savinho. The club aims to re‑establish a post‑Guardiola identity and challenge Arsenal for the Premier League title in the 2026/27 season.
