Portugal U20 Lose 1-3 to Brazil in Aveiro
Portugal U20 lost 1-3 to Brazil U20 in a preparation tournament in Aveiro on Tuesday.
The match was the final game of the Portuguese side's preparation cycle.
Brazil took a two‑goal lead within the first 15 minutes.
Clarinha, a Benfica player and captain of the South American side, opened the scoring at seven minutes and added a second shortly after.
Portugal responded when Luana Bessa reduced the deficit at the 17th minute after a deflection from a free‑kick.
The half‑time score was 2‑1 to Brazil.
In the second half Brazil restored a two‑goal advantage at the 52nd minute through Ana Beatriz.
No further goals were scored before the final whistle.
Portugal's preparation cycle had included wins over South Korea and Finland before the Brazil test.
Coach Marisa Gomes now turns her focus to the U20 World Cup in Poland, scheduled for 5–27 September.
