Olympique Lyonnais Féminin crush Paris FC 5-0 to claim 19th title
Olympique Lyonnais Féminin defeated Paris FC 5-0 in the Arkema Première Ligue final on May 29, securing their 19th French title in 20 years. The victory comes just one week after Lyon’s Champions League final defeat.
Amandine Henry and Delphine Cascarino each scored twice, while Melvine Malard netted the fifth goal for Lyon. The rout completed a dominant league campaign under coach Sonia Bompastor.
Paris FC managed just two shots on target in the 90 minutes, with Pauline Peyraud-Magnin making multiple saves to keep the deficit manageable. Lyon’s attack overwhelmed the capital side early, with Cascarino opening the scoring in the 12th minute.
Lyon’s attacking trio of Cascarino, Henry, and Malard combined for all five goals, extending their unbeaten league run to 25 matches. Their relentless pressing forced Paris FC into errors, leading to quick counter-attacks.
The title marks Lyon’s 19th top-flight crown since 2004, reinforcing their dominance in French women’s football. The club has now won 14 of the last 15 Première Ligue titles.
Next season, Lyon will aim to rebound from their Champions League final loss against FC Barcelona Femení.
