Athletic Bilbao Sends Four Players to 2026 World Cup
Athletic Bilbao will send four players to the 2026 FIFA World Cup hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The tournament kicks off on Thursday 11 June with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa.
Unai Simón, Aymeric Laporte and Nico Williams have been selected for the Spain national team.
Iñaki Williams will represent Ghana.
Simón, Laporte and Williams are slated to start for Spain.
Iñaki Williams is Ghana's captain and will also start.
All four are expected to feature from the first minute.
None have been named as reserve players.
Alex Padilla had a potential pathway to join the Mexican squad but was ultimately omitted.
Padilla remains unavailable for the tournament.
