Ruben Amorim pushes for Ramos and Trincão at Milan

🇮🇹 7 uur geleden

Milan’s newly appointed head coach Ruben Amorim has asked for Portuguese forwards Gonçalo Ramos and Francisco Trincão to join the Rossoneri, with the club’s RedBird owner Gerry Cardinale granting him a three‑year contract, an extra year’s option and near‑full control over summer recruitment.

La dello Sport reported that Amorim’s request comes with full backing from RedBird chief Gerry Cardinale. Cardinale has handed Amorim a three‑year deal with an optional fourth year and delegated near‑full authority over the summer transfer window.

Markus Krösche was slated to join Milan as sporting director alongside Amorim, but he rejected the terms at the eleventh hour. Krösche will therefore remain at Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to Daniele Longo, Francisco Trincão is a player Amorim wishes to reconnect with at Milan. The two enjoyed a fruitful, trophy‑laden spell together at Sporting CP.

Gonçalo Ramos, a former Benfica forward, was one of the most in‑demand strikers in Lisbon before moving to Paris Saint‑Germain. He has collected almost every major club trophy in Paris but has not secured a regular starting role under coach Luis Enrique.

Milan’s recent struggles on the pitch could trigger a mass exodus of forwards in the coming weeks, potentially opening a slot for a striker like Ramos. Paris Saint‑Germain is reportedly looking to recoup a fee in the region of €40 million for the soon‑to‑be 25‑year‑old.

To finance Amorim’s squad reinforcement, the Rossoneri will need to free up funds, with winger Rafa Leão still expected to be on the market. Leão’s departure could provide part of the necessary budget.

Recent links involving Ramos and Trincão suggest that Jorge Mendes may once again act as a powerbroker in the transfer negotiations. Krösche’s last‑minute rejection, however, raises doubts about long‑term stability at Milan.

Overall, the combination of managerial uncertainty and pending player moves appears to weigh heavily against the Rossoneri’s immediate prospects. The club’s hierarchy will need to clarify decision‑making authority to avoid further disruption. The analysis was compiled by journalist Anshuman Joshi for GIFN.
