Portugal U20 women beat South Korea 2-0 in preparation tournament
Portugal U20 women opened their preparation tournament in Aveiro with a 2-0 win over South Korea at Estádio Conde Dias Garcia on Wednesday.
Marisa Gomes’ side dominated early, taking the lead in the fifth minute through Anna Marques, whose long-range strike beat the South Korean goalkeeper.
Mafalda Mariano extended the advantage in the 28th minute, capitalizing on Portugal’s control before halftime. The captain’s goal cemented a commanding first-half display.
Portugal maintained superiority in the second half, creating more chances than South Korea despite squad rotations by Gomes.
The win gives Portugal three points in the tournament. Their next match is against Finland on Saturday in Oliveira de Azeméis.
Portugal concludes the competition on July 9 against Brazil, featuring Thaís Lima and Clarinha, at Estádio Dr. Carlos Osório.
