Swansea City consider former striker Michu as sporting director
Swansea City are reportedly weighing former striker Michu for the sporting director position.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the 40‑year‑old is being considered ahead of the next Championship season.
Michu spent six and a half years as sporting director of Spanish side Burgos.
During his tenure Burgos earned promotion from the third tier as champions in 2021, ending a 19‑year absence from the Segunda Division.
The club then stabilised in the Spanish second‑tier and recorded a seventh‑place finish last season, missing the play‑offs on head‑to‑head with Castellon.
Michu played three seasons for Swansea City, scoring 28 goals in 67 appearances across all competitions.
His tally included 20 Premier League goals and four Europa League strikes.
He also lifted the League Cup in 2013 with the Swans.
After leaving Swansea in 2015, Michu had a loan spell at Napoli before joining Langreo and Real Oviedo in Spain.
He retired at Real Oviedo in 2017 and later returned to both Langreo and Oviedo in non‑playing capacities.
Michu joined Burgos as sporting director in December 2019 and served as caretaker manager for one match two years ago.

Swansea City have remained in the Championship since their 2018 relegation from the Premier League.
The club finished 11th for a second consecutive season, failing to reach the play‑off places.
