Tariq Lamptey faces ACL rehab, clubs Valencia Levante interested
Tariq Lamptey is facing a lengthy knee rehabilitation after an ACL injury. He is on the verge of terminating his contract with Fiorentina. Valencia, Levante and Espanyol have expressed interest despite his injury.
Lamptey spent five seasons at Brighton, where he impressed as a full‑back. His performances earned him a reputation for a Premier League style of play. He also featured for Chelsea before moving to Italy.
The move to Fiorentina marked Lamptey's first foray into calcio. His stay in Florence has been limited by the knee problem.
Valencia have monitored the English‑Ghanaian despite his ACL setback. Levante and Espanyol are also evaluating a potential free signing.
Should any of the clubs secure Lamptey, he would join on a free basis after his contract termination. His pace and ability to operate on either flank could add depth to their squads.
Lamptey's rehabilitation is expected to last several months before he can train competitively. A successful recovery could see him return to top‑flight football in the upcoming season.
