Tommaso Baldanzi joins Genoa on permanent loan with buy option

AS Roma have finalised the transfer of Tommaso Baldanzi to Genoa CFC on a loan agreement with an obligation to buy. The deal includes a €9.5 million fee. Roma confirmed the move in a statement, marking the end of Baldanzi’s time at the club after 69 appearances and three goals.

The Giallorossi announced the agreement via a club statement, detailing the loan-with-obligation structure. Baldanzi’s departure follows his January 2026 loan spell at Genoa, where he spent the second half of the season.

Baldanzi made 69 appearances for Roma, scoring three goals during his time at the club. His contributions came across 69 matches, with the attacking midfielder departing after three seasons.

The €9.5 million fee forms part of the permanent transfer agreement. The obligation to buy clause ensures Genoa will complete the deal at the end of the loan period.

Tommaso Baldanzi expressed his excitement upon joining Genoa permanently. “I’m thrilled to continue my adventure in the Grifone jersey,” he said. “I can’t wait to start again in these colors. I feel I can give and I know I still have a lot to prove to the Rossoblu fans.”

Genoa CFC welcomed Baldanzi after his January 2026 loan stint. The club confirmed his integration into the squad following the completion of the transfer process.
