Oscar Trejo bids farewell after ten years at Rayo Vallecano
Oscar Trejo, captain of Rayo Vallecano, displayed emotion Thursday upon landing at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport after his side fell to Crystal Palace in the Conference League final.
The match was Trejo's last appearance for the club after a ten-year spell.
Trejo described his decade at Rayo Vallecano as "dream years".
He stepped off the plane and was greeted by reporters at the airport.
Rayo Vallecano reached the UEFA Conference League final for the first time.
Crystal Palace secured the trophy, leaving Rayo as runners-up.
Trejo's departure ends a decade in which he captained the side.
The club will now seek a new leader for the upcoming season.
