Uruguayan forward Gonzalo Petit aims to stay at Betis
Uruguayan forward Gonzalo Petit, 19, is seeking to remain with Real Betis after being signed from Nacional de Montevideo last summer. The club will decide his future following two loan spells in Spain.
Petit's first loan of the season was with Mirandés in the Liga Hypermotion. He appeared in 21 matches, scoring five goals and providing one assist across 946 minutes of play.
He then moved to Granada CF for the second half of the campaign. In 15 appearances he netted three goals in 789 minutes, contributing to the team's successful fight for survival.
His contributions helped Granada secure their place in the league. The young striker's impact was noted for its consistency despite limited minutes.
Betis recruited Petit as a long‑term prospect, viewing him as a future option for the attacking line. The club sees his experience in the Spanish second tier as valuable development.
Petit began his professional career with Nacional in Montevideo before moving to Europe. His age and progress have attracted attention within the Betis scouting network.
Real Betis will now evaluate whether to extend his loan, integrate him into the first‑team squad, or arrange another temporary move. The decision will shape the next step of the Uruguayan forward's career.
