Camp Nou construction hits new milestone with 1,500 workers
Yesterday 1,500 workers were active at Camp Nou as construction progresses without match disruptions. Demolition of the old third tier and erection of the new stand have advanced rapidly since Limak Construction deployed up to 3,400 palettes daily during peak phases.
Club officials privately acknowledge this €1.5bn project has achieved the lowest accident rate of any major stadium rebuild in its history. Safety records remain intact as crews install permanent features ahead of schedule.
The future museum, located in the refurbished second-tier Tribune up to the Travessera corner, is now taking shape. Automated staircases linking the museum to the concourse have already been installed, accelerating the final fit-out phase.
Lighting rigs are being pre-wired so that by the start of La Liga fixtures, illumination will shift from above the second tier to a position above the new third tier, meeting UEFA Category 4 standards.
At roof level, steel frameworks supporting the retractable roof cables now span the entire lateral section, completing the structural skeleton before membrane cladding begins.
With 60% of concrete pours completed and façade panels arriving weekly, FC Barcelona expects the stadium to seat 105,000 when it reopens in 2026.
