Rayo Vallecano Players Fund Travel for Scammed Fans
Rayo Vallecano players have organised a fund to enable supporters who were scammed while booking travel to attend the UEFA Conference League final. The final will be played against Crystal Palace on 27 May at 21:00 CET in Leipzig.
The Spanish side reached the final after defeating Strasbourg in the semi‑final. Their victory set up a clash with the English club for the competition's title.
A number of Rayo fans fell victim to a travel‑booking scam while arranging tickets to the match. The fraud left them unable to finance the journey to Germany.
In response, several members of the Rayo squad contributed to a collective pot to cover the affected supporters' travel expenses. The initiative aims to ensure the fans can join the team in Leipzig.
Leipzig will host the decisive match, with kickoff scheduled for 21:00 CET on Wednesday 27 May. The venue will see both clubs compete for the European trophy.
The players' gesture underscores the club's commitment to its fan base and highlights solidarity ahead of a historic occasion. It also reflects the broader community spirit within Spanish football.
Rayo Vallecano now prepares to face Crystal Palace, hoping to secure the Conference League crown. The upcoming final promises a showcase of talent and determination from both sides.
