Benjamin Pavard Leaves Olympique Marseille After One Season
French defender Benjamin Pavard has announced his departure from Olympique Marseille. The announcement came on Monday after a season on loan from Inter Milan.
Pavard joined Marseille in the summer from Inter Milan on a loan deal that included a €15 million purchase option. The loan was intended to last for the 2023‑24 season.
In his brief statement, the defender wrote, "A page turns", and did not provide further details about his future plans. No comment was made regarding a potential return to Italy or another destination.
The season proved difficult for Pavard, with limited playing time and mixed performances. Marseille and the player have therefore decided to part ways.
Pavard, a French international, previously spent several seasons at Inter Milan before moving to France. His exit marks the end of his first spell in Ligue 1.
Marseille will now assess its defensive options ahead of the next campaign. Pavard’s next club remains unknown.
