Valadares Gaia release five players from women's team
Valadares Gaia confirmed on Friday the departure of five players from its senior women's squad. Carlyn Presley, Jennie Lakip, Louisa Aniwaa, McKenna Martinez and Morgan Stone have ended their association with the club, as announced via social media.
The Gaia-based club posted a farewell message reading, "Thank you for everything and good luck," acknowledging the players' contributions during their time at Valadares Gaia.
Morgan Stone has already secured her next move, joining FC Porto Feminino for the 2026/27 season. McKenna Martinez is expected to remain in Liga BPI.
Presley, Lakip, Aniwaa and Martinez’s futures remain undecided as Valadares Gaia finalizes preparations for the upcoming campaign. The club plans to announce both incoming transfers and retained players in the coming weeks.
Valadares Gaia competes in Liga BPI, Portugal’s top women’s football division. The club’s women’s team is managed under the @valadaresgaiafeminino handle on Instagram.
Five departures leave spaces to fill as Valadares Gaia reshapes its roster ahead of the new season.
