West Brom advance talks to sign Chelsea striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan
West Brom are in advanced negotiations to secure Chelsea striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan on a permanent transfer, with the 20‑year‑old expected to leave Stamford Bridge next year as his contract expires, for a nominal fee that includes a substantial sell‑on clause.
Morgan progressed from Chelsea's youth ranks to senior football via loan spells at Gillingham and Peterborough United. He joined Chelsea in 2022 after moving from Southampton as a 17‑year‑old for an initial £3 million fee.
During his loan at League One side Peterborough United, Morgan recorded 12 goals and three assists across 34 league appearances. The loan spell was described as impressive.
Morgan has represented England at youth levels up to the under‑20 side. His contract with Chelsea is due to expire next year.
West Brom are progressing talks to sign Morgan on a permanent deal. The agreement would involve a nominal fee that includes a substantial sell‑on clause.
He previously spent time on loan at Gillingham, gaining senior experience. Chelsea consider him highly regarded within their academy.
His loan experiences have taken him from Chelsea's youth teams to senior football. A move to the Championship would follow his impressive loan spell.
