Xavier Parker in Direct Talks for Liverpool Move
Xavier Parker is in direct talks with Liverpool about a move from Manchester City. The 16‑year‑old midfielder’s contract with Manchester City expires at the end of the month.
Parker emerged as a standout prospect at West Ham United before joining Manchester City’s academy in 2024. Since arriving in Manchester he has featured in the Under 18 Premier League, the FA Youth Cup and the UEFA Youth League, often playing above his age group.
In March he scored in a 3‑0 victory over Liverpool’s Under 18 side. He also appeared in Manchester City’s 2‑1 FA Youth Cup final win over Manchester United.
Liverpool and Parker’s representatives have begun contract negotiations, with both parties expressing a desire for the transfer. Parker, a Liverpool fan, is expected to leave Manchester City when his contract ends and join Liverpool, while other clubs remain interested.
Liverpool’s recent acquisition of Wolves Under‑14 goalkeeper Zach Trinder highlights the club’s focus on youth recruitment. Securing Parker would further underline Liverpool’s commitment to building for the future.
