Abdullah Ashraf Takes Chairmanship of Tamworth FC

Dawn Group International completed its takeover of National League side Tamworth FC.

Abdullah Ashraf, 24, founder and chief executive of the US real‑estate firm, will become chairman, succeeding Bob Andrews.

Ashraf said he is "exceptionally excited and blessed" to lead the club.

He praised former primary shareholders Bob Andrews and vice chairman Steve Lathbury for their 40‑year stewardship of Tamworth FC.

On the pitch, Tamworth FC secured back‑to‑back promotions under manager Andy Peaks, returning to the National League in 2024 after a decade away.

The club’s 2024‑25 FA Cup run included victories over League One Huddersfield Town and Burton Albion before a extra‑time defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the third round.

Ashraf, who also owns Oklahoma United FC, said he will be "hands‑on" and travel frequently to push Tamworth toward promotion to the English Football League.

He noted his involvement in US commercial real‑estate deals exceeding $250 million and oversight of assets worth more than $100 million, while his minority stake in National League South side Truro City is being sold.

Tamworth FC finished 11th in the National League last season, 19 points shy of the play‑offs.
