Aberdeen sign 20‑year‑old winger Tony Yogane from Brentford

Aberdeen have completed the signing of 20‑year‑old winger Tony Yogane from Brentford, with the former Dundee loanee joining on an undisclosed fee after making 42 appearances for Dundee last season. Dons manager Stephen Robinson expects the player to add quality to the squad as the club prepares for the new campaign.

Yogane spent the 2023‑24 season on loan at Dundee, featuring in 42 matches across all competitions. Robinson said the winger established himself as one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.

The 20‑year‑old began his football journey in Sheffield Wednesday's academy before moving to Brentford, where he progressed through the club's B team. He also enjoyed a loan spell at Exeter City during his time with Brentford.

Robinson praised Yogane's potential, saying: "Tony is a really exciting prospect," Stephen Robinson told club media. "He is a player with huge potential, as he demonstrated during his time with Dundee last season, where he was one of the best players in the league."

Robinson added that several clubs were interested in Yogane before Aberdeen secured his signature. He called the signing a coup and confirmed the player has signed a long‑term contract with the Dons.

Yogane has also featured in League Cup matches for Brentford. Those appearances came under the management of Thomas Frank.

The player explained that his agent informed him of Aberdeen’s interest after the season ended, prompting a swift move. "After the season ended, my agent told me Aberdeen were interested and things moved forward quickly. This is the next step up for me," Yogane said.

"Aberdeen is a big Club. I want to win things here. It is a big challenge after what happened last season, but we must go out and prove people wrong," he continued. "When we played against Aberdeen last season, I just had a good feeling about the Club. Especially when you see the size of the support. I can't wait to see the fans. Hopefully it is an enjoyable season," Yogane added.
