Alvaro Arbeloa in talks with Fulham after Real exit
Alvaro Arbeloa, 43, has left Real Madrid and is now in talks with Premier League side Fulham. The Fulham vacancy opened after Marco Silva left.
Arbeloa took over from Xabi Alonso in January but did not win any trophies, leading Real Madrid to decline a contract extension. The lack of silverware meant the club chose not to renew his deal.
Fulham's managerial vacancy arose when Marco Silva departed to join Benfica as the successor to Jose Mourinho, who will assume the Real Madrid role this summer. Silva's move created the opening that Arbeloa is targeting.
Arbeloa was also linked with Bayer Leverkusen, though his name was later removed from consideration. He remains attentive to other European managerial opportunities.
