Amsterdam court orders Ajax to pay GIC after Antony and Martínez transfers
Ajax must pay compensation to scouting agency GIC following the 2022 transfers of Antony and Martínez to Manchester United. The Amsterdam Court of Appeal overturned a lower court ruling that had rejected GIC’s claim.
The court ruled that Ajax is liable for the agreed scout fees related to the transfers. The decision reverses an earlier verdict from the district court, which had dismissed GIC’s claim.
GIC had pursued compensation after Ajax allegedly failed to fulfill scout fee obligations for the two players. The agency argued that the club breached its contractual agreements.
Antony and Martínez joined Manchester United in 2022, with both transfers triggering scout fee disputes. The Court of Appeal’s ruling now confirms GIC’s entitlement to payment.
Ajax has not yet commented on the ruling or indicated whether it will appeal further. The financial terms of the compensation remain undisclosed.
