Chelsea eye Juventus left‑back Andrea Cambiaso, report
Chelsea are reportedly in talks to sign Juventus left‑back Andrea Cambiaso, according to journalist Graeme Bailey. The 26‑year‑old Italian recorded three goals and five assists in 47 appearances across Serie A and other competitions last season, and his contract runs until the summer of 2029.
Cambiaso primarily operates as a left‑back but can also be deployed as a left‑winger or right‑back if required by his manager. He enjoys tackling, clears danger, and provides tidy passes and accurate crosses into the opposition penalty area.
Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso would add quality and depth to his defensive options by signing Cambios. The 26‑year‑old is considered capable of competing for a regular starting place at the West London club in the coming years.
Chelsea have identified Cambios as a main target for the summer transfer window. With his contract at Juventus set to expire in the summer of 2029, the Blues would need to present a convincing offer to secure his services.
A photograph by Timothy Rogers captured Cambios during a warm‑up in Udine, Italy, on 14 March 2026. The image shows the Juventus defender ahead of the Serie A clash between Udinese Calcio and Juventus FC at Stadio Friuli.
The transition to the Premier League remains uncertain, and Alonso would need to allow Cambios time to adapt to English football. Moving before the close of the transfer window would be prudent, according to the report.
