Chelsea target Jacobo Ramon as Real Madrid reinforce defence

Chelsea are monitoring centre‑back Jacobo Ramon as Real Madrid reinforce their back line for 2026‑27, adding Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries while extending Antonio Rudiger’s deal. Mourinho’s side also seeks a new defender, but the Spanish giants focus on experienced signings. Real Madrid have bolstered their defence for the 2026‑27 campaign by signing Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries. The club also secured veteran centre‑back Antonio Rudiger on a new one‑year contract. Chelsea manager José Mourinho is actively seeking another centre‑back to strengthen his side. His counterpart Xabi Alonso has singled out Jacobo Ramon as a very good addition for the Blues. The influx of experienced defenders is intended to provide guidance for Real Madrid’s younger players. Consequently, the pathway for the promising youngster Jacobo Ramon to return to the Spanish club has narrowed. Ramon has recorded a huge leap in development over the past year. He wishes to remain at Como, attracted by the prospect of UEFA Champions League football next season. Real Madrid retain 50 % ownership of Ramon and hold favorable options should they wish to bring him back. Chelsea have yet to make any concrete move, and convincing Ramon would be harder because his new club will be in the UEFA Champions League while Chelsea will not. The Spanish side does not need Ramon this summer but may revisit the situation next year. For now, both clubs appear to be waiting on the player’s decision.
