Connor Ronan signs two-year deal with Aberdeen, aims for Europe

Midfielder Connor Ronan, 28, has completed a move to Aberdeen, signing a two-year contract with an optional third year. The Scottish club announced the deal after Ronan made 29 appearances for St Mirren in the 2021‑22 season and most recently featured for Colorado Rapids in MLS.

Ronan previously worked under Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson at St Mirren, establishing a familiar partnership. Before returning to Scotland, he spent the latest part of his career with the Colorado Rapids in the United States.

His career also includes spells in England, Slovakia and Switzerland, adding breadth to his experience. To date he has accumulated 275 senior appearances and scored 15 goals across all competitions.

Stephen Robinson told the Aberdeen website, "He's a creative player who will bring valuable experience to our midfield. He has a strong work ethic, can score goals and has clearly matured during his time in MLS." He added that the player also possesses the character and professionalism the club values.

Connor Ronan said, "I'm delighted to have everything finalised and can't wait to get started," after confirming his move. He explained that early talks with the manager clarified the club's ambitions and his role within them.

Ronan expressed a desire to help Aberdeen compete at the top end of the table, return to Europe and challenge for trophies. He noted that having worked with Stephen before gives him a clear understanding of expectations.
