Cucurella urges Enzo Fernández to join Real Madrid
Spanish left‑back Marc Cucurella, fresh from his move to Real Madrid, told Radio that adapting to the European champions’ demands will be a “huge challenge” and that he hopes former Chelsea teammate Enzo Fernández can also join the Santiago Bernabeu before the transfer window closes.
Cucurella explained that every Real Madrid player is of high quality and that fitting in is not easy. “You have to be at 100 per cent in every match. Every team wants to beat you,” he said.
When asked about his future partner on the left side, Cucurella said he will play with Vinicius Jr. and is prepared to cover any tasks the Brazilian does not perform. “I’ll do whatever he doesn’t want to do. As long as he’s decisive and fresh enough to score goals, I’ll take care of the dirty work,” he added.
The defender highlighted Vinicius’s impact in recent Champions League campaigns, calling him a decisive and influential player. “Vinicius has shown that he’s a decisive and influential player in Real Madrid’s Champions League campaigns,” Cucurella noted.
Cucurella turned to the topic of Enzo Fernández, describing the Argentine midfielder as both a great player and a friend. “He’s a great player as well as a friend of mine. He’s congratulated me on the move. I hope it goes through,” he said.
He added that both he and Fernández enjoyed their time at Chelsea and would welcome the chance to sign for Madrid together this summer. “We’ve been very happy at Chelsea, and it would be great if we both had the chance to sign for Madrid this summer,” he concluded.
Cucurella expressed optimism that Fernández will become a Real Madrid player before the window closes.
