Erik ten Hag confirms two-year commitment to FC Twente role
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has dismissed speculation over a possible early exit from FC Twente to become national team coach, confirming he will remain in his current role for the next two years. Speaking to , Ten Hag stated he has received multiple offers to become head coach of another country’s national team but will not elaborate on contract clauses with FC Twente that could facilitate such a move.
"I am not going to elaborate on my contract," Ten Hag said during the interview. "I have started at FC Twente and the next two years I will be at FC Twente." He added that any potential national team opportunity would require careful consideration beyond financial terms, including the competitive context and player group.
The former Ajax, Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen manager also expressed his ambition to coach a national team. "I would really aspire to that," he said. "It has come up before—not from the KNVB—but I would love to coach a national team at some point. Those are things you want to experience if you can."
