Everton target Fulham midfielder Sander Berge

Everton have entered the market for Fulham midfielder Sander Berge as they look to add Premier League experience to their midfield ahead of the new campaign. The 28‑year‑old Norway international, who has three years left on his Fulham contract, is being linked with the Merseyside club.

Berge has previously played for Sheffield United and Burnley before joining Fulham, where he spent two productive seasons. His calm distribution, intelligent positioning and physical presence have earned him respect as a dependable holding midfielder.

His situation changed after Marco Silva left Fulham for Benfica. Hull City, newly promoted to the Premier League, are also monitoring Berge’s situation. Manchester United have been linked with the midfielder, though their immediate focus has shifted to Mateus Fernandes, while Bournemouth’s Alex Scott is another option they are considering.

Berge has earned 67 senior caps for Norway after progressing through every youth age group. His understanding of English football reduces the adaptation period typically required for overseas arrivals.

Everton have historically benefited from signing players familiar with the Premier League’s demands, and Berge fits that profile. His ability to shield the defence while maintaining possession would add a new dimension to Everton’s midfield.

Although Berge remains under contract with Fulham for three more years, he is reportedly open to exploring a new opportunity. If the transfer materialises in the coming weeks, it could become one of the more interesting domestic stories of the summer window.

Should Manchester United prioritize other targets, Everton’s path to securing Berge could become clearer. The club’s supporters will be watching closely as the summer window progresses.
