Victoria Pelova joins Tottenham after Arsenal exit

Netherlands midfielder Victoria Pelova, 27, will wear Tottenham Hotspur's shirt next season after announcing in May her departure from Arsenal, where she had a 3.5‑year spell and an expiring contract. She made 56 competitive appearances for Arsenal, scoring four goals and providing eleven assists.

Arsenal won the Champions League last season. This season the London club reached the semi‑finals and finished second in the Women's Super League. Pelova lost her starting place under Dutch coach Renée Slegers.

At Tottenham she will be teammates with two fellow Netherlands internationals. They are defender Lize Kop and midfielder Caitlin Dijkstra, who arrived from VfL Wolfsburg.

Pelova said on the Spurs' club channels, "It feels good to be here. I am well received by everyone. I can't wait for the new season." The comments were posted shortly after the transfer announcement.

Pelova transferred from Ajax to Arsenal at the start of 2023. The move placed her in the English Women's Super League.

She has earned 71 caps for the Netherlands senior side. She has scored seven goals for the Oranje.
