Fans React to Marc Cucurella's £51.8m Move to Real Madrid

Marc Cucurella completed a £51.8m transfer from Chelsea to Real Madrid. Fans were asked for their views on the move. The responses were mixed.

Clayts said it was a shame because Cucurella had been good, but noted that Real Madrid is a bigger club and that the player is Spanish. He added that Jorrel Hato has been looking very good and could benefit from the timing of the transfer.

Rob called the deal a surprise and described Cucurella as indispensable. He suggested that Lewis Hall could make a return to fill the left‑back vacancy.

Pete expressed satisfaction with the departure of Spanish‑speaking players he said were causing problems in the dressing room, and criticised the leaders of the group. Chris urged the club to “put the money in the bank and play Hato there”.

Jeffrey warned that the new manager Xabi Alonso will need a replacement, lamenting the loss of an experienced professional who often set the team’s tempo. Peter labelled Cucurella a disturbing influence and not a team player.

Del praised Cucurella’s performances and said he would be missed, while also backing the idea of giving Lewis Hall another chance or promoting Jorrel Hato. Gareth claimed the sale was linked to criticism and called Cucurella the best defender and left‑back in the Premier League last season.

Phil expressed surprise at taking a loss on the deal despite Cucurella’s form, and highlighted Hato as a promising young player who improved as the season progressed. Fossie questioned whether BlueCo expected to profit from player sales and hoped an academy graduate would join the first‑team squad.
