Giuseppe Rossi urges Manchester United to sign free agent Robert Lewandowski

Former Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi has urged Manchester United to sign Robert Lewandowski. Lewandowski will become a free agent next month after his Barcelona contract expires. In four years at Barcelona, Lewandowski scored 120 goals in 193 appearances. He added 24 assists and helped the club win three LaLiga titles, three Spanish Super Cups and the Copa del Rey. His LaLiga tally includes 83 goals, with 27 in one season and 14 in the most recent campaign, and he recorded 23 Champions League goals in 38 matches. The 37‑year‑old Polish striker also amassed seven trophies in Catalonia, bringing his career haul to 33. He previously collected ten Bundesliga titles with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. Outside Europe, Saudi Pro League sides and MLS club Chicago Fire have expressed interest. Rossi argues that Lewandowski would mentor United’s young forward Benjamin Sesko. Sesko arrived from RB Leipzig for a £74m fee last summer and has scored 11 league goals this term, nine of them after the turn of the year. Former United captain Rio Ferdinand echoed Rossi’s view, calling Lewandowski “an incredible asset”. Ferdinand suggested the veteran could aid Sesko’s development and add experience for a short‑term deal. United secured a third‑place finish in the Premier League and a Champions League spot last season. Under newly appointed permanent manager Michael Carrick, the club will look to reinforce the squad ahead of a busy schedule. Lewandowski’s departure ends a prolific four‑year spell at Barcelona. His free‑agent status ensures a range of clubs will monitor his next move.
