Iliman Ndiaye Hints at Marseille Return as Everton Stalemate Grows
Iliman Ndiaye signaled a possible return to Olympique de Marseille while his contract talks with Everton stall. Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are reported to be monitoring the situation ahead of the World Cup.
Ndiaye spoke to France Football, with the interview later reproduced by Foot Mercato, recalling the day he signed for Marseille and the overwhelming welcome from the fans.
He said his development was hindered by missing a traditional academy and having only one season in the English Championship before moving to Ligue 1, leaving gaps for a top French club.
Ndiaye noted that Marseille made no effort to retain him when Everton expressed interest, and he believes two additional Premier League seasons would have altered his Marseille experience.
The Everton attacker has turned down several contract offers; his representatives are demanding a release clause below Everton’s valuation, while the Senegal national team prepares for the World Cup.
Analysts advise David Moyes to reject the low‑ball clause, keep Ndiaye central to the attack, and postpone negotiations until after the World Cup to protect Everton’s bargaining position.
