Jack Hendry ready to face Neymar in Miami World Cup clash

Jack Hendry, the 31‑year‑old Al‑Ettifaq defender, says he will look forward to facing Brazil’s Neymar in Miami on Wednesday, should the Brazilian forward be fit to play. Neymar, the 34‑year‑old Santos striker, has scored 79 goals in 128 appearances for Brazil but missed the first matches of the World Cup because of a calf injury. Carlo Ancelotti, head coach of Brazil, confirmed Neymar is fit to play against Scotland in Miami on Wednesday. Hendry, who previously played for Club Brugge, expressed confidence he will be ready for the challenge. “I’ll have no problem,” Hendry said, adding that he feels comfortable meeting Neymar after having faced him in the league. He noted, “Obviously he was out in the league I was in,” referring to Neymar’s recent injury. Hendry recalled playing against Neymar twice in the Champions League when Neymar was at Paris Saint‑Germain, describing the encounters as a good test. He added that the front three at that time also featured Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé. He warned that concentration is essential against players of such calibre, saying a momentary lapse could be punished. Hendry believes the match will be a great spectacle if Brazil takes part. Hendry highlighted Brazil’s amazing history and said Scotland wants to disrupt it on Wednesday, viewing the game as a chance to advance to the next round. He considers playing against top‑calibre teams the best path to progress.
