Leeds United Target Real Betis Defender Natan

Leeds United are monitoring 25‑year‑old Brazilian centre‑back Natan of Real Betis. The interest was reported by Spanish outlet ABC Sevilla via Sport Witness. Betis bought Natan for €10 million two seasons ago and now seek at least €45 million. Transfermarkt values him at €25 million, indicating a potential profit for the Spanish side. West Ham submitted a €35 million loan‑to‑buy offer in January, but the bid was rejected because the payment would not meet the fiscal deadline. Roma and Barcelona are also reported to be watching the defender. Natan is left‑footed, quick and praised for his open‑play ability, traits that match Daniel Farke’s requirement for ball‑playing centre‑backs. He has spent two years in La Liga and is entering his prime, while Real Betis have qualified for the Champions League. Leeds United would need to mobilise roughly £38 million before 30 June to avoid the accounting obstacle that stopped West Ham’s winter move. Securing Natan would free a non‑EU squad slot for Leeds and provide the pressing intensity they lack at the back. Pablo Fornals celebrated a goal with Natan during a LaLiga EA Sports match against Elche CF on 12 May 2026 in Seville, captured by photographer Fran Santiago.
