Liverpool hold firm on €30m Curtis Jones price as Inter push
Liverpool have set a €30 million asking price for midfielder Curtis Jones, despite Inter Milan’s intensified pursuit as the Englishman approaches the final year of his contract. The Reds’ stance comes as the 25‑year‑old is due to become a free agent in the summer of 2027.
Jones has spent his entire career at Anfield, making him a homegrown Premier League player. His contract runs down to 2027, meaning Liverpool must decide whether to sell him now or lose him for free.
Liverpool insist on a €30 million fee plus a future resale percentage, signalling they aim to retain financial interest if Jones departs. The club has shown little indication of accepting a discounted price.
“The Jones situation is different. There’s still confidence in reaching an agreement with Liverpool, but the Reds remain resistant, as they intend to cash in on the English midfielder’s €30 million sale, including a percentage of his future resale value,” the Italian newspaper reported. The report underlines Liverpool’s intent to secure the €30 million figure.
Inter Milan are reported to be carrying around 20 players and waiting for a move, confident in Jones’s desire and his contract expiring in a year. “Inter, for their part, are stuck with around 20 players and are waiting, confident in the player’s desire and a contract expiring in just a year,” the source added, noting the club believes Jones is receptive to a transfer.
Inter aim to have new signings, including a goalkeeper, central defender and midfielder, ready in Germany by July 16, suggesting they hope to finalize talks before Liverpool’s pre‑season begins. “The goalkeeper, central defender, and midfielder are close. Chivu would like them available in Germany starting July 16th,” the report noted.
The arrival of Andoni Iraola as Liverpool head coach adds another layer to the decision, as Jones has experienced mixed fortunes under different tactical setups. Iraola’s assessment of the squad will influence whether the midfielder fits into future plans.
Liverpool’s summer strategy balances recruitment with player sales, and Jones is one of the most marketable assets on the market. By demanding €30 million and a resale clause, the club makes clear any departure must deliver strong value.
