Liverpool Intensify Hunt for Bournemouth Midfielder Alex Scott

Journalist Graeme Bailey reported that Liverpool are stepping up their pursuit of AFC Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. Andoni Iraola is said to be eager to reunite with the English midfielder at Liverpool. Bournemouth remain hopeful of retaining Scott beyond the summer. Scott, 22, recorded four goals and one assist in 39 appearances for AFC Bournemouth across all competitions last season. His contributions came in the Premier League for AFC Bournemouth. He is contracted with AFC Bournemouth until the summer of 2028, which could limit Liverpool’s ability to acquire him cheaply. The midfielder combines tackling, ball recovery and passing, and can also contribute occasional goals. He operates primarily as a box‑to‑box player but is capable of playing as a number ten or on the right flank. Iraola’s Liverpool could add energy and dynamism to the midfield with Scott’s skill set. Scott would need to compete for a regular starting place, and his signing would depend on Liverpool securing a reasonable price.
