Liverpool submit bid for Yan Diomande as PSG shift focus

Liverpool have submitted their first formal bid to RB Leipzig for 19‑year‑old winger Yan Diomande. Richard Hughes now has the leverage needed to secure the player as Paris Saint‑Germain appear to retreat. Yan Diomande remains an RB Leipzig player as of 12 June 2026, widely cited as Liverpool’s primary target this summer. Liverpool view the Ivorian winger as the ideal long‑term successor on the right flank after Mohamed Salah’s departure. Leipzig are reportedly holding out for a valuation around €130 million. Paris Saint‑Germain, the European champions, have also pursued Diomande but are reportedly shifting interest to Michael Olise. Reports cite Maghnes Akliouche as another PSG option in the same position. Born in Abidjan in 2006, Yan Diomande moved to the United States to train at the DME Academy before joining CD Leganés in early 2025. He transferred to RB Leipzig in July 2025 for €20 million and recorded 12 goals and nine assists in 36 appearances across all competitions in the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign. Diomande is currently part of the Ivory Coast squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, having played in a friendly against France on 4 June.
