Liverpool target Wolves goalkeeper Zach Trinder
Liverpool are set to sign Wolves goalkeeper Zach Trinder. Trinder has represented England at U15 level and is widely regarded as the best goalkeeper in academy football. Arsenal and Tottenham have also shown interest in the 18‑year‑old.
The signing follows Liverpool’s recent squad turnover, including the departures of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Mohamed Salah has already left the club, while the long‑term futures of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker remain under discussion. The club is therefore rebuilding the core that delivered recent titles.
Giorgi Mamardashvili currently sits on the bench as a potential successor to Alisson. Mamardashvili has shown promise but has not yet established himself as the undisputed number one. Last summer Liverpool added Armin Pecsi, a Golden Ball‑nominated young goalkeeper, who is expected to spend the next season on loan and could become Alisson’s heir after 2027.
Experts describe Trinder’s arrival as a decisive step in Liverpool’s goalkeeper succession plan. Lewis Bower has described Trinder as the best of his generation. The move reinforces the club’s strategy of securing multiple young talents to challenge for the No.1 spot.
