Manchester City seek new winger as Savinho nears Tottenham move

Manchester City are actively searching for a new wide attacker ahead of the 2026-27 season, while 22‑year‑old Brazilian winger Savinho is reported to be on the verge of a £60 million move to Tottenham, although the north London club has not yet submitted a formal offer. Savinho has expressed a desire to leave Manchester City in search of more playing time after a difficult 2025‑26 campaign. Manchester City are in discussions with Tottenham over a potential transfer, but no official bid has been made. Enzo Maresca is set to be announced as Manchester City’s incoming manager following Pep Guardiola’s departure after a decade‑long tenure. Compensation talks with Chelsea are nearing completion, according to reports. City sporting director Hugo Viana has held preliminary talks with Maresca regarding the club’s summer transfer strategy and the upcoming pre‑season programme. Several senior players are expected to consider their futures, including Ruben Dias, Tijjani Reijnders, James Trafford, Rico Lewis, Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez and S a vinho. John Stones and Bernardo Silva have already departed as free agents. January acquisitions Antoine Semenyo, signed for £65 million from Bournemouth, and Marc Guehi quickly became regulars in Pep Guardiola’s side. Both contributed to Manchester City’s cup double, which included the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Their impact helped the club in a tight title race with Arsenal. The club’s push for an additional winger reflects a reliance on Jeremy Doku for width last season, a need partly addressed by Semenyo’s arrival. Phil Foden prefers a central role, while Bernardo Silva moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer, and Omar Marmoush has attracted interest from Barcelona. Manchester City are also close to finalising a club‑record agreement with Nottingham Forest for England midfielder Elliot Anderson. Alex James of the Manchester Evening News wrote, “Manchester City want to sign a new winger for Maresca to add further depth to a backline that saw Jeremy Doku star and Semenyo provide brilliant value last term.”
