Manchester United name five attackers including Osimhen

Manchester United have drawn up a five‑man attacking shortlist as they plan to complement new striker Benjamin Šeško, naming Victor Osimhen, Jean‑Philippe Mateta, Dusan Vlahovic, Eli Junior Kroupi and Robert Lewandowski, a move that signals a more measured rebuild.

Benjamin Šeško arrived from RB Leipzig in a deal worth €76.5 million plus €8.5 million in bonuses. The fee has generated enormous expectations for his impact at Manchester United.

United are not seeking a single goalscorer but aim to build an ecosystem around Šeško. Exploring several attacking profiles avoids placing the entire burden on one player.

Victor Osimhen is viewed as the standout option, offering pedigree, physicality and a strong goalscoring record. Financial considerations, however, complicate any immediate move for him.

Jean‑Philippe Mateta would bring proven reliability from the Premier League. His experience in England aligns with United’s desire for immediate impact.

Dusan Vlahovic presents an intriguing market opportunity amid uncertainty about his future at Juventus. Eli Junior Kroupi fits the younger recruitment profile United have increasingly prioritised.

Robert Lewandowski’s inclusion is surprising but his extensive experience could accelerate Šeško’s adaptation. His leadership may provide guidance to the new striker.

The shortlist indicates United are shifting focus from collecting famous names to solving specific squad issues. Intelligent squad building is now prioritized over headline‑grabbing purchases.
