Marc Cucurella Declines Transfer Talk Ahead of World Cup
Marc Cucurella refused to discuss his future and said he wants to enjoy the World Cup. Barcelona remain interested in the 27‑year‑old full‑back.
Barcelona are looking to add depth at full‑back and have shortlisted Cucurella among other names. The former La Masia graduate currently plays for Chelsea and has also attracted interest from Atletico Madrid.
In an interview with El Partidazo de la Cadena COPE, Cucurella said he is very happy where he is and that his family is happy too. He added that he does not want transfer talk to distract him during the World Cup. He also told his agents not to approach him with any transfer proposals.
Any move would depend on Alejandro Balde's future at Barcelona and on a price estimated between €40 million and €50 million. Hansi Flick is reported to appreciate Cucurella's profile. The accompanying photo was taken by Manuel Velasquez.
When asked to choose between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, Cucurella replied “Pasapalabra”. He said he will focus on Spain and leave the decision to the clubs. Barcelona continue to monitor the situation.
