Port Vale sign Jackson Smith on three-year deal
Port Vale have secured 24‑year‑old goalkeeper Jackson Smith from Barnsley on a three‑year contract, paying an undisclosed fee, the club announced on its website. The signing adds a proven League Two performer to the squad ahead of the new season.
Jackson Smith becomes Port Vale's second signing of the summer window. The club completed the deal after bringing Jasper Moon to the team last week. Port Vale announced the signing via its official website.
Smith spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Grimsby Town. During that spell he kept 13 clean sheets in 22 League Two appearances.
Vale head coach Jon Brady said, "We are delighted to welcome Jackson to Vale Park." He added that the goalkeeper "has already gained valuable experience at this level and has proven he has what it takes to provide a steady and reassuring presence at the back." Brady made the comments on the club's website following the announcement.
Jackson Smith will join the squad at Vale Park. He signed a three‑year contract with Port Vale. The transfer fee was undisclosed.
