RB Leipzig inquire about Everton striker Thierno Barry

RB Leipzig have made an enquiry about Everton striker Thierno Barry, the 23‑year‑old who featured in every Premier League match last season and recorded eight goals, signalling the Bundesliga side’s interest in the forward as the English club evaluates his future and weighs the financial implications.

Everton paid £27 million to acquire Barry from Villarreal, a fee that underscores the club’s reluctance to incur a loss. The financial commitment makes any potential sale a delicate decision for the Merseyside side.

Italian clubs have also expressed interest in Beto, who concluded the campaign with ten goals across all competitions. Beto’s productivity adds another layer to Everton’s forward‑line considerations.

Replacing a single striker would already strain Everton’s attacking options, while replacing two could prove a major gamble. The club’s already delicate attacking department leaves little margin for error.

Manager David Moyes is focused on building stability rather than repeatedly swapping key players. Across Europe, the striker market remains limited, further complicating recruitment.

Supporters may question a sale after only one season, noting that Barry displayed flashes of ability rather than consistent form. Nevertheless, he is still regarded as an unfinished product with considerable upside.

Unless Leipzig present an offer significantly above Everton’s £27 million outlay, retaining Barry appears the wiser choice. The decision will hinge on balancing immediate needs against long‑term value.
