Real Madrid eye Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella
Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella, with Barcelona also monitoring the player. Both clubs are competing for the Spaniard as the transfer window approaches. Cucurella currently features in the Premier League for Chelsea.
The Bernabeu side have already completed the signings of Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries for the 2026-27 season. They also expect Bernardo Silva to join once his Manchester City contract expires. Jose Mourinho will shape the squad ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Concerns at left-back arise from Alvaro Carreras' decline in form after his move from Benfica. Ferland Mendy's recent injury record adds further uncertainty to the position. Nicolo Schira described Cucurella as a market opportunity for Real Madrid.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also interested in Cucurella, but neither club is prepared to meet the €60 million asking price. Real Madrid could instead rely on Carreras regaining his early‑season form, Mendy if he stays fit, or retain Fran Garcia. The accompanying image is credited to Manuel Velasquez.
